Mark Fowler

Mark Fowler currently serves as the Commissioner of the Alabama Department of Insurance, a role held since January 16, 2023, following an appointment by Governor Kay Ivey. Prior to this position, Fowler acted as the Acting Commissioner from July 1, 2022, to January 15, 2023, and has extensive experience within the Department, including roles as Deputy Commissioner and Chief of Staff. With a career spanning various organizational leadership roles, Fowler has also served as Executive Director for both the Alabama Cable Telecommunications Association and the Alabama Chemical Association, as well as Principal at RMF Consulting, LLC. Additionally, Fowler has a background in communications and political science, holding degrees from Auburn University and Auburn University at Montgomery.
