Cindy Stuart Goocher

Cindy Stuart Goocher is a seasoned public health professional with extensive experience in environmental health management. Currently serving as Public Health Environmental Manager at the Alabama Department of Public Health since February 2019, Cindy oversees the Food and Lodging and Community Sanitation programs while directing a team of seven. Prior experience includes the role of Environmental Director at the Montgomery County Health Department from November 2006 to January 2019, where leadership of similar programs was provided for a staff of nine. Cindy's career began at the Montgomery County Health Department, progressing from Public Health Environmentalist to Assistant Environmental Director and Food & Lodging Supervisor from 1990 to 2005. Academic qualifications include a Master of Education in Secondary Education/Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Biology, both earned at Auburn University at Montgomery.
