Dan Metzger

Dan Metzger is an experienced broadcast operations professional with a career spanning over three decades. Currently serving as the Assistant Director of Broadcast Operations at the Alabama Department of Public Health since March 2016, Dan oversees broadcast operations within the Video Communications and Distance Learning Department and manages a satellite uplink truck for statewide productions. Previously, Dan held various engineering and technical roles, including Broadcast Engineer at Alabama Public Television, Chief Operating Engineer at WBXM-LPTV, and Chief Engineer at WNCF-TV. Dan's extensive expertise includes transmitter maintenance, video production equipment installation and servicing, and systems upgrades, supported by an Associate's degree in Industrial Electronics from John M. Patterson State Tech.
