Katherine Engel

Katherine Engel has a diverse work experience in the field of biosciences. Katherine is currently employed at Alamar Biosciences, Inc. as a Product Development Manager, starting in January 2023. Prior to this role, they worked as a Senior Scientist at the same company from June 2020 to January 2023.

Before joining Alamar Biosciences, Katherine worked at FUJIFILM Wako Diagnostics U.S.A. Corporation as a Senior Scientist from April 2019 to January 2020, and as a Scientist II from July 2017 to April 2019.

Katherine also gained research experience at Theranos, where they worked as a Senior Scientist from May 2017 to July 2017, and as a Scientist from January 2014 to May 2017.

In their earlier career, Katherine worked in academic research labs. Katherine was a Postdoctoral Researcher/Graduate Student Researcher at the John Kuriyan Lab at the University of California, Berkeley from August 2007 to January 2014. Katherine also worked as a Research Assistant at the M.Thomas Record Lab at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from August 2006 to August 2007, and at the Rayla Temin Lab at the same university from August 2005 to May 2007.

Katherine Engel has a strong educational background in the field of biochemistry. From 2003 to 2007, they attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they earned their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree. During their time at the university, their studies focused on biochemistry and genetics. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued further academic achievement by attending the University of California, Berkeley from 2007 to 2013. During this period, they successfully completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Molecular Biology.
