Cheryl Cook-Kallio

Cheryl Cook-Kallio serves as the Vice-President of the Alameda County Office of Education Board Trustee for Area 7 since July 2022 and is the CA We the People/Project Citizen Coordinator, a role held since April 2018. Additionally, Cheryl has been a candidate for the 16th Assembly District since November 2015, which covers several cities in Alameda and Contra Costa County. From April 1976 to June 2015, Cheryl taught Advanced Placement U.S. History, Advanced Placement Government/We the People, and Honor Economics, while also coaching the We the People Competition Civics Team. Previously, Cheryl served as a former Councilmember and Vice Mayor of the City of Pleasanton from December 2006 to December 2014. Cheryl holds a Master of Arts in History with an emphasis on the U.S. Constitution from San José State University and a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
