Jonathan Russell

Jonathan Russell currently serves as the Director of Housing and Homelessness at Alameda County Health, a position held since March 2024. Prior to this, Russell was the Chief Strategy and Impact Officer and worked in various leadership roles at Bay Area Community Services from October 2019 to February 2024, overseeing a $100 million budget and leading significant initiatives in housing development and homelessness prevention across multiple counties. Additional experience includes serving as Vice President of Programs at Bay Area Rescue Mission, where strategic planning and program oversight were key responsibilities. Russell holds a PhD (ABD) in Religion and Philosophy from Claremont Graduate University, a Master's in Theology and Philosophy from Fuller Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor's in Philosophy from Biola University.
