Chief Of Palliative Care at Alameda Health System

Wendy Anderson's work experience includes holding the position of Chief of Palliative Care at Alameda Health System since September 2021. Wendy is also a Volunteer Clinical Professor and a Palliative Care Physician at the University of California, San Francisco, where they have been working since August 2007. Additionally, they have served as the Physician Lead for Interprofessional Continuing Education in Palliative Care, contributing to the development of a course for professionals in the Bay Area from January 2015 to June 2018. Wendy has also been involved with VitalTalk as a Distinguished Faculty member and Director of the San Francisco Bay Area VitalTalk Hub since September 2018 and April 2017, respectively. Lastly, they have been the Principal Investigator for the IMPACT-ICU Project since March 2011, leading a program that integrates palliative care into the ICU and providing training and support to bedside nurses. Wendy'stenure in this role will end in October 2022.

Wendy Anderson has an extensive education history in the medical field. Wendy began their education at Reed College, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in the year 1996. Following this, they attended UC San Diego and obtained a Doctor of Medicine degree in Medicine, completing their program in the year 2001. Wendy then joined Duke University for an Internal Medicine Residency Program, which they completed from 2001 to 2004. Later, they attended the University of Pittsburgh from 2005 to 2007, where they completed a Master of Science degree in Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program.
