Gloria Vasquez

Director, Area Agencies On Aging at Alamo Area Council of Governments

Gloria Vasquez has extensive experience in community service and organizational leadership, currently serving as the Director of Area Agencies on Aging at the Alamo Area Council of Governments since July 2015. In this role, Gloria oversees services for adults aged 60 and older across a 13-county region, focusing on supporting older residents to age in place with dignity and enhanced quality of life. Previously, Gloria held the position of Executive Director for the South Texas Affiliate of Mothers Against Drunk Driving, managing operations across 47 counties. Earlier roles include Director of the Area Agency on Aging at the Alamo Area Council of Governments, where services were provided to seniors in 12 rural counties, and Vice President at the YMCA of Greater San Antonio, overseeing the Child & Family Services division. Gloria holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Texas State University and a high school diploma from Natalia High School.
