Alante Capital
Tess joins Alante with a background in the circular economy, corporate sustainability, environmental science, and advocacy. Tess recently graduated with an MBA from UC-Berkeley Haas, with a specialization in impact venture capital. During her MBA, Tess worked with Alante as a consultant, helping with market research and diligence. She also spent time leading strategic growth for a startup post-Series C raise and diligencing investments with a family office financing impact funds.
Prior to her MBA, Tess spent four years with Ocean Conservancy’s plastics initiative where she drove a transition to a circular economy through collaboration with Fortune 500 companies, leading scientists, NGOs, and international and domestic government agencies. Earlier in her career, Tess was an organizer for the People’s Climate Movement and Hillary for America.
In addition to her MBA, Tess holds a bachelor’s from Washington University in St. Louis, where she studied Environmental Biology, Economics, and Anthropology.
Growing up in NYC, Tess always loved the self-expression of fashion. At ten, she sewed herself a dress entirely of zippers! Fashion’s impact on the planet led her to second-hand shopping in high school, and now, she takes delight in a wardrobe full of funky vintage pieces. At Berkeley she was voted "most likely to be 100% thrifted." She's thrilled to tie the thread between her career in impact and love for apparel.
