Stacy Barnes

Director, Governmental Relations & Public Affairs at Alaska Housing Finance Corporation

Stacy Barnes is director, governmental relations and public affairs. In her capacity Stacy interacts with local, state and federal officials, supports the initiatives of other departments and directors, and shares AHFC’s stories with media, both owned and earned. She has worked in this role since 2010, and previously worked in in a similar role in the Anchorage Mayor’s office, and before that as the youngest president of the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce.

Stacy holds a B.A. in journalism and public communications and with minors in history and psychology from the University of Alaska Anchorage (graduated 2002), and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Alaska Pacific University (2008). Stacy is the immediate past chair of the international Public Relations Society of America Financial Communications Section; is a board member at the Providence Alaska Foundation and in the hospital in the Compassionate Care/No One Dies Alone program, and she has served as an advisor to UAA’s department of journalism and communication. Stacy has been inducted as a member of the Anchorage ATHENA Society, recognized for her professional achievements, community service and commitment to advancing women; and in the 2008 class of the Alaska Journal of Commerce’s Top Forty Under 40.
