Mike Barnhill

Mike Barnhill serves as the Chief Operations Officer (COO) for the Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation. As COO, Mr. Barnhill oversees the middle office trade support, human resources, procurement, budget, and administrative functions for the Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation. Mike joined APFC in 2023.

Prior to APFC, Mike worked for the State of Alaska for over 20 years in various capacities, including Deputy Commissioner (Departments of Revenue and Administration), Investment Officer, OMB Policy Analyst, and Assistant Attorney General. A primary theme of Mike’s career with the State is public finance, pension, and fiscal issues.

Mr. Barnhill holds a Bachelor of Arts from the College of Wooster and a Juris Doctor degree from Cornell Law School. Mike earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2021.
