Maya Kumazawa

Maya Kumazawa serves as the Director of Budget & Planning at Albemarle County Public Schools since September 2018. Prior experience includes a role as Senior Budget & Management Analyst and Program Coordinator at the City of Charlottesville from March 2014 to September 2018. Educational background includes an MBA and MPPA from the University of Massachusetts Amherst (2010-2013) and a B.S. in Commerce with a focus on German from the University of Virginia (2004-2008). Additionally, Maya Kumazawa has held positions as Graduate Course Director and Residential Learning Graduate at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, worked at Americans for the Arts as a Local Arts Advancement intern, and gained early experience as an Investment Banking Analyst and Summer Analyst at Deutsche Bank, as well as a Summer Intern at the Hessisches Ministerium für Wirtschaft, Energie, Verkehr und Wohnen.
