Amy Smith

Amy Smith has over 32 years of experience in parks and recreation, currently serving as the Director of Parks and Recreation at Albemarle County since 2026. Prior to this role, Amy held various positions within Albemarle County, including Assistant Director and Deputy Director of Parks and Recreation. Earlier in their career, Amy worked as the Fitness Program Director at YWCA USA and as an Intramural Sport and Publicity Programmer at Georgia Southern University, where they earned a Master's degree in Recreation Administration. Amy also holds a Bachelor of Science in Sports Studies with a concentration in Sports Management from Towson University.
