Lonnie Murray possesses extensive experience in environmental conservation and technology, currently serving as a Planning Commissioner and Chair of the Natural Heritage Committee for Albemarle County, where responsibilities include developing conservation policies and conducting habitat inventories. As an Associate Director and former Director of the Thomas Jefferson Soil and Water Conservation District, Lonnie has engaged in local and state policy recommendations and resource allocation for conservation efforts. Lonnie has also contributed to the UVA Health System as a Software Engineer, managing projects and developing web applications while optimizing database efficiency. Additionally, Lonnie served as a Commissioner for the Rivanna River Basin Commission from 2013 to July 2022. Lonnie holds a Bachelor of Science in English Language and Literature from Radford University.
