Erik Schortinghuis, P.Eng.

Erik Schortinghuis, P.Eng. has extensive experience in the energy sector, currently serving as a Senior Engineer at Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) since March 2012, where technical expertise is provided to Operations staff to ensure reliable electricity delivery in accordance with market and regulatory standards. Prior to AESO, Erik worked as an Engineer at BC Hydro from June 2010 to February 2012, managing and resolving Energy Management System (EMS) incidents to enhance operational efficiency. Erik began a career in the industry at BC Transmission Corporation as an Engineer-in-Training in Real-Time Systems from May 2006 to May 2010, focusing on software testing for the ALSTOM EMS. Erik holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering from The University of British Columbia, earned from 2002 to 2006.
