MING DONG, Ph.D,P.Eng.,SMIEEE

Ming Dong is a seasoned engineer specializing in grid analytics and electrical engineering, currently serving as a Senior Engineer Specialist at AESO since April 2020, where responsibilities include leading advanced grid analytics initiatives and developing engineering tools. Prior experience includes roles at ENMAX from July 2014 to April 2020, where Ming contributed to system planning, risk-based planning methods, and predictive machine learning models for T&D asset management. Earlier roles include engineering positions at ATCO Electric and the State Grid Corporation of China, alongside academic experience as a research assistant and teaching assistant at the University of Alberta. Ming holds a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Alberta, a Certificate in Data Science and Big Data Analytics from MIT, and a Bachelor of Engineering from Xi'an Jiaotong University.
