Constantine Chinoporos joined Albireo in December 2021 as Chief Business Officer. He has over 30 years of experience in the biopharma industry in corporate and business development as well as strategy, most recently at Boston Pharmaceuticals. Prior to Boston Pharmaceuticals, Constantine held senior positions leading global licensing, business development, corporate finance, and alliance management at Sanofi S.A., Genzyme, and Eli Lilly.
As Chief Business Officer at Boston Pharmaceuticals, he led the business development and new product planning functions, as well as being appointed Head of Finance prior to his departure. Over six years, Constantine successfully in-licensed over 20 programs, which included a novel collaboration structure with GlaxoSmithKline. Prior to that, Constantine served in various corporate and business development leadership roles leading global teams for 14 years at Sanofi and Genzyme. Notable transactions included Sanofi's $2.5 billion Immuno-Oncology pact with Regeneron, acquisition of the Rx to OTC rights for Cialis from Eli Lilly, and the purchase of Priority Review Vouchers from Biomarin and Retrophin. Before Genzyme, Constantine served in various capacities at Eli Lilly for over 12 years, including roles in corporate finance & investment banking, and alliance management. Constantine received an undergraduate degree in History as well as an MBA from Cornell University.
