Alphonso M. Brown, MBA, MIS, CISSP has worked in the IT and cybersecurity fields for over 15 years. In 2015, they began their role as President and CEO of ALCA IT Solutions, Inc., where they are responsible for providing IT solutions and cybersecurity consulting services for commercial or government agencies. Alphonso M. also provides instructional services for various information security training courses. In 2019, they became an Adjunct Professor at the San Diego Community College District, providing training in preparation for the CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+) certification.
From 2001 to 2015, Brown served in the US Navy as a Petty Officer First Class (RET). During this time, they were a CompTIA Certification Trainer (Net+, Sec+), Certification Equipment Officer, and provided support to Commander, U. S. Pacific Fleet N6. In 2016, they joined Trabus Technologies as a Cybersecurity Specialist, NQV Lvl II, where they provided planning, analysis, development, implementation, upkeep, and enhancement of systems, programs, policies, procedures and tools to ensure the integrity, reliability, accessibility, and confidentiality of information systems and assets.
In 2015, Brown began working for Hewlett Packard Enterprise/Lockheed Martin (Apex Systems, Inc.) as a Cybersecurity Analyst, Sr. In this role, they ensured that the networks and systems that comprise the Marine Corp Enterprise Network (MCEN) comply with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs). Alphonso M. also operated and managed all aspects of Information Systems, data availability, integrity, authentication, confidentiality, and non-repudiation.
Brown's career began in 2006 at ALCA International, LLC, where they were a Systems Analyst/Project Manager. Alphonso M. led large scale IT projects overseeing application updates, OS/hardware upgrades, patch remediation, and federal standards audits. Alphonso M. also contributed to the development of security solutions based on risk balancing, business need, technology availability, and practicality.
Alphonso M. Brown, MBA, MIS, CISSP has a diverse educational background. Alphonso M. earned a B.S. in Political Science from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University between 1991 and 1997. Alphonso M. then went on to obtain an MBA in Global & Risk Management from the New York Institute of Technology between 2005 and 2007. In 2013 and 2015, they earned a Masters of Information Systems from the University of Phoenix, with a focus in Computer and Information Sciences and Support Services. Alphonso M. is currently a Doctoral Candidate in Information Assurance and Security at Capella University, which they began in 2017 and is expected to complete in 2020. In addition to their educational qualifications, Alphonso has obtained several certifications, including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)² in 2014, CompTIA Security+ ce Certification from CompTIA in 2014, Network Security Vulnerability Technician from the US Navy in 2014, Information Systems Maintenance Technician from the US Navy in 2013, NSLS Member from The National Society of Leadership and Success in 2021, Doctoral Candidate from Capella University in 2019, Registered DoD RMF Practitioner from BAI Information Security in 2019, Navy Qualified Validator from the US Navy in 2021, and Registered Practitioner (RP) from the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification Accreditation Body (CMMC AB) in 2020.
