Sarah Newman

Sarah joined Alcentra in 2023 as Co-Head of Product Management with over 25 years in Financial Services experience in both Investment Banking and Wealth & Asset Management. Sarah has spent half of her career in a number of technical and client facing roles on trading floors at JPM Morgan, Credit Suisse & BNP Paribas, setting up and developing equity and fund derivative businesses. Sarah has also been involved in capital raising and the launch of high-profile hedge funds.

Sarah moved into Wealth & Asset Management in 2010, joining Barclays to become Head of Alternatives for Europe. Focusing on the origination, due diligence, product development and distribution of alternatives, alongside chairing the alternatives portfolio management committee. Sarah also sat on the Advisory Committee for Barclays Pension Fund and co-Chaired the Women's Network.

Sarah has taken on consultative roles, working with PWC and HSBC. In lockdown, she focused on Fintech in Asset and Wealth Management and in 2022 Sarah moved back into Product at Barings where she joins us from.
