Vern Chong

Vern Chong is an experienced finance professional currently serving as AVP of the Direct Lending Portfolio at Alcentra since June 2021. Prior to this role, Vern worked as an Associate in Direct Lending at Ares Management, L.P. from March 2019 to March 2021. Vern's career began at Deloitte UK, where responsibilities included financial auditing and analysis of major international banks and financial institutions as an Assistant Manager in Banking & Capital Markets from September 2013 to February 2019. Vern also participated in a Summer Vacation Scheme at Deloitte UK in 2012 and completed a Summer Internship at EY in 2011. Academically, Vern holds an ACA from ICAEW and a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Warwick. Vern began education at HELP University, achieving A-levels in Chemistry, Economics, Mathematics, and Physics.
