Hang Z.

Hang Z. has a long history of work experience in various roles. In 2004, they began as a Student Research Assistant at Peking University, where they developed and managed the website with php, mysql and ldap, for the Institute of Remote Sensing and GIS. In 2006, they moved to the Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, where they worked as a Graduate Student Research Assistant, analyzing glacier change in the Tibetan Plateau with Remote Sensing and GIS techniques, and conducting hydrological modeling in Southeastern Tibet. In 2009, they became a Graduate Student Research Assistant at the University of Idaho, where they worked on snow cover monitoring, analysis, and modeling in High Asia with Remote Sensing and GIS techniques, as well as analysis and modeling of glacier extent and volume changes in Altai, Tienshan, and Pamir regions. In 2012, they took on the role of Teaching Assistant at the University of Idaho. In 2016, they worked as a Visiting Scholar at Los Alamos National Laboratory and as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Idaho. In 2017, they became a Data Engineer, Applied Scientist at Descartes Labs. Finally, in 2020, they took on two roles at paii: Staff Research Scientist and Senior Research Scientist. In 2022, they began working as a Software Engineer at Alchemy.

Hang Z. began their educational journey in 2002 when they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Remote Sensing, GIS, and Geography from Peking University. In 2006, they earned a Master of Science in Cryosphere, Remote Sensing, and GIS from the Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences. From 2009 to 2016, Hang Z. obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Cryopshere, Hydrology and Climate Change in Central Asia, Remote Sensing, GIS, and Spatial Analysis from the University of Idaho. In March 2022, Hang Z. obtained a certification in Transitioning from Manager to Leader from LinkedIn. They are currently enrolled in Alchemy University, but have yet to obtain a degree.
