Ryan Oblak has been a software engineer since 2007. Ryan began their career at PrepMe as a Software Engineering Intern in 2006, and then as a Software Engineer the following year. In 2010, they moved to Silver Spring Networks as a Software Engineer, where they were part of a 3-person team that designed, developed, and maintained a web-based secure network configurator. After that, they worked at SaveUp as a Senior Software Engineer from 2011 to 2014. During their time there, they led a financial data project to interface with Intuit to securely process and analyze 250k+ transactions a day, and also architected and administered the company's production server systems. In 2014, they joined LinkedIn as a Senior Software Engineer, where they led a 5-person engineering team responsible for LinkedIn's Hadoop-based scheduled communications platform. In 2017, they moved to Stormpath as a Senior Software Engineer, and then to Okta, Inc. as a Software Architect. At Okta, they spent their first couple of years building and scaling the streaming analytics infrastructure, and in the last two years they have split their time between being an individual contributor and product owner. In 2022, they joined Alchemy as a Software Engineer.
Ryan Oblak began their undergraduate studies at Wichita State University in 2000, where they began taking computer science classes at the age of 14. In 2003, they transferred to Stanford University and attained a Bachelor of Science in Math and Computational Science with an emphasis on Biology in 2007.
