Jan Gagelmans

Jan Gagelmans is an experienced energy project developer currently working at ALCOGROUP since August 2025. Prior to this role, Jan held several senior positions at BASF from February 2017 to July 2025, including Manager of Net Zero Priorities, where responsibilities encompassed managing CO2 abatement projects and providing strategic guidance to the BASF board. Jan also served as an Expert in Carbon Management, focusing on the transformation towards carbon neutrality for the Antwerp site, and as an Expert in Utility Management, specializing in demand forecasting for natural gas and electricity. Jan's academic background includes a Master of Science in Engineering Sciences with a focus on energy from KU Leuven and a Master in Applied Economics from the University of Antwerp, enhancing expertise in techno-economic evaluations and economic policy.
