David Nixon

David Nixon is a seasoned electrical engineer with extensive experience in the mining and utilities sectors. Currently serving as a Senior Electrical Engineer at Alcoa, beginning in June 2022, David specializes in low voltage, instrumentation, and electrical training, supporting operations across Australia and providing assistance to South American and European refineries. Prior to this role, David held senior engineering positions at South32 and Kleenheat, focusing on electrical resource management for LPG and LNG facilities. David's career at Alcoa from 2008 to 2019 involved developing long-term strategies for the reliability of electrical and instrumentation systems and leading capital improvement projects. Earlier experience includes a technical role at The Royal Melbourne Hospital. David holds a Bachelor of Engineering and a Bachelor of Applied Science from Swinburne University of Technology.
