Jean-Philippe Cormier is an experienced engineering professional with a strong background in maintenance and reliability engineering. Currently serving as an Engineering and Major Projects Manager at Alcoa since May 2013, Jean-Philippe has held various roles including Technical Supervisor, Maintenance Surintendant Assistant, and Maintenance Engineer, focusing on the pootroom and mobile equipment. Previous experience includes working as a Stress and Rotating Equipment Engineer at AP Dynamics Inc., addressing rotating equipment issues through FEA, and as a Machine Science Engineer at Naiad Company Ltd., utilizing FEA modeling with ANSYS. Additionally, involvement in research on hydraulic systems was carried out at Laval University, along with earlier positions at Alcoa managing predictive maintenance for hydraulic and mechanical components. Jean-Philippe holds a Master’s degree in Accelerated Testing on Hydraulic Systems and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Université Laval, complemented by a Technologist degree in Industrial Maintenance from Cegep de Trois-Rivières.
