Nicol Gagstetter

Nicol Gagstetter currently serves as the Executive Vice President and Chief External Affairs Officer at Alcoa, overseeing global sustainability and external affairs since October 2023. Prior to this role, Nicol held various senior positions at Glencore as the Global Head of Environment and Social for Copper from August 2021 to September 2023, and at Rio Tinto from 2008 to 2021, where responsibilities included Marketing Senior Manager and Director of External Affairs, among others. Earlier career experiences include serving as Director of Legislative Affairs at The Nature Conservancy and various research and internship roles. Nicol holds a BA in Environmental Science and International Studies from Northwestern University, an MS in Watershed Science from Utah State University, and executive certificates in Business and Sustainability from Stanford University, as well as Finance for Non-Financial Managers from the University of Denver - Daniels College of Business.
