Brannon Latimer serves as Head Patents at Alcon since December 2015, overseeing a team that develops and implements intellectual property (IP) strategy, manages a global patent portfolio, addresses IP-related conflicts, and provides legal counsel for the Surgical and Vision Care franchises. In addition, Brannon leads the legal team supporting Alcon's $5B surgical franchise and is responsible for building and managing the global IP portfolio and supporting internal development teams. Brannon also serves as Director Senior Legal Counsel for IP at Texas A&M University School of Law and as an Adjunct Professor of Law, teaching IP Transactions & Licensing. Previous experience includes roles as Partner at Latimer Intellectual Property, Lawyer at Baker Botts LLP, and a Summer Associate at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP. Brannon holds a JD from SMU Dedman School of Law and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University.
