Melvaleen Steward

Melvaleen Steward has a wealth of experience in the healthcare industry. Melvaleen currently holds the position of Global Vice President, Core Portfolio and Innovation at Alcon since October 2023. Prior to this, they worked at DePuy Synthes as the Global Head of Medtech Education for Trauma, Extremities, and CMF from March 2021 to December 2023, and as the Sr. Director of Marketing Strategy and Operations (Global Strategic Marketing) from April 2019 to March 2021.

Before their time at DePuy Synthes, Steward worked at Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc. as the Director of Innovation and Pipeline from March 2016 to April 2019, and as the Sr. Global Brand Manager of the ACUVUE Brand from March 2014 to March 2016. Melvaleen started their career at Johnson & Johnson Health Care Systems Inc. in 2004 as a Business Solutions Manager, a role they held until 2007.

Steward also gained experience at Ethicon, Inc. where they served as the Sr. US Brand Manager for Ethicon Products from April 2012 to March 2014, the US Brand Manager for ETHICON Products from October 2009 to April 2012, and as an Assoc Brand Manager for GYNECARE from November 2007 to October 2009.

Melvaleen'searly career included working at Towers Watson as an Assoc Communications Consultant from September 2000 to August 2002, and as a Volunteer with the Peace Corps from November 1999 to August 2000.

Melvaleen Steward obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Neurobiology and Behavior from the University of Rochester in the years 1995 to 1999. Later, they pursued their Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing and Management from Columbia Business School from 2002 to 2004. During their studies at Columbia, they also engaged in a study abroad program for one year at the University of Cape Town in 2003.
