Simon Capel

Simon Capel began their work experience as an Analyst in Structured Finance at NIBC Bank in October 2014. Simon then progressed to the role of Associate in Structured Finance, where they executed structured finance transactions for corporate clients, with a focus on receivables finance in the FinTech space. After leaving NIBC Bank, Simon joined LeasePlan in January 2018 as a Manager in Securitisation. In this role, they were involved in multiple funding transactions as a project manager and led various data-related projects. Simon later became a Senior Manager in Securitisation, where they continued to oversee funding transactions and took on additional responsibilities, such as introducing data modeling in PowerBI and coordinating regulatory reporting projects. Simon joined Ayvens in October 2023 as a Data Quality Lead.

Simon Capel's education history includes a variety of degrees and certifications. Simon obtained their MBA in Big Data and Business Analytics from the University of Amsterdam's Amsterdam Business School from 2019 to 2021. Prior to that, they completed their Msc. in Economics with a focus on Monetary Policy and Banking at the University of Amsterdam from 2013 to 2014. Simon also holds a Bachelor of Economics & Business degree from the University of Amsterdam, which they earned from 2009 to 2012. Additionally, they completed their VWO (pre-university education) at Herman Jordan in Zeist from 2001 to 2008. Simon has acquired several certifications including Intro Python/SQL from Codecademy in 2019, R Programming from Coursera in 2019, Advanced PowerBI Training from SignOn ICT Trainingen & Diensten in 2018, and they passed Level I of the CFA exam offered by the CFA Institute in 2015.
