James Knott

James Knott is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the retail industry, currently serving as Group Buying Director at Aldi UK since October 2008. In this role, James leads a senior Buying Director team across the Produce, Plants & Flowers categories, as well as the Chill & Frozen categories, overseeing Value Chain Optimisation and Customer insights teams. Previously, James held the position of Director of Store Operations, managing 35 stores in the Midlands and developing strategies for strong commercial performance, while leading a team of 11 Executive Managers and overseeing 1,250 colleagues. Earlier experience includes serving as National Account Executive during an industrial placement at The Kraft Heinz Company. James holds a degree in Business Strategy & Management from Nottingham Trent University, completed in 2008.
