Daniel Abela

Daniel Abela serves as the General Counsel and Head of the Legal Department at Alef Education, a prominent K-12 EdTech company in the MENA region, since January 2023. Prior to this role, Daniel held the position of General Counsel for Medical Services at International SOS from January 2012 to April 2022, managing legal affairs for the global medical services division. Additional experience includes serving as a Non-Executive Director and Strategic Advisor at Beyond-Legal and leading the corporate/commercial practice at KBH. Daniel has also worked with several law firms, including Squire Patton Boggs, DWF, Eversheds Sutherland, and Garretts Andersen Legal, where responsibilities encompassed mergers and acquisitions, corporate law, and regulatory compliance. Academically, Daniel holds an LLB (Hons) and a Legal Practice Course qualification from The Manchester Metropolitan University.
