Dave Ball

Dave Ball has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies. Dave started their professional career at Fujitsu as a Technical Officer, where they provided administrative support for field telecoms engineers and worked on high-profile projects. After that, they worked at North East Surrey College of Technology as a Sessional Lecturer and IT Manager, where they provided lecturing in English, Maths, and IT, and was responsible for establishing new IT teaching facilities. Later, they joined Cardiff University and held various roles, including Applications Specialist, IT Change & Configuration Manager, and Service Desk Developer. In these roles, they provided application support, managed IT service management projects, and led initiatives such as major incident process reviews and IT asset management projects. Currently, they are working at Alemba as a VP of Product, where they are responsible for product management, agile product management, leading scrum teams, and sprint planning and estimation. Dave has also worked as a Product Consultant at Alemba, providing consultancy, software training, and process workshops to customers in various locations.

Dave Ball obtained a BEng in Computer Systems Engineering from Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd from 1998 to 2002. Prior to that, they completed their A-Levels/GCSEs in History, Geography, and Computing at St. George's College from 1991 to 1997. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained various qualifications such as ITIL Practitioner Service Strategy, Gamification, Prince2 Foundation, Prince2 Practitioner, ITIL v 3 Practitioner (Service Operations and Service Transition), VMware Service Manager Certified Developer, InfraEnterprise Certified Developer, and ITIL v 3 Foundation Certificate.
