FPGA Engineer & Embedded Software at Alén Space

David L. has a work experience that spans from 2013 to 2023. David began their career as a Collaborator at UPCT, working on activities related to the ESA Euclid NI-ICU Design, where they developed an EDAC VHDL module and integrated it into a real-time hardware assembly. David then joined Alten on behalf of CRISA as an Analog Electronics Engineer, designing mixed-signal boards and performing signal conditioning and power budget analysis. David then worked at the Space Science & Engineering Lab, UPCT as an Embedded Software Engineer for the ESA Euclid Mission, specifically focusing on the Drivers and Boot Software for the Euclid NISP Instrument Control Unit. David also worked on the development and maintenance of setup tools for the NI-ICU ISVV. After that, David joined Airbus Crisa as a Microelectronics & Software Engineer, where they designed and developed FPGA flight systems, analyzed project requirements, and designed post-processing applications. Currently, they work at Alén Space as a Microelectronics & Software Engineer.

David L. completed their Master's degree in electronics, communications, and computer engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena, specializing in telecommunications engineering. The degree was obtained sometime before 2014.

In addition to their formal education, David has obtained several certifications. In June 2019, they achieved a C2 level proficiency in English from the Official School of Languages. In March 2016, they completed a certification course in Introduction to Power Electronics, taught by Prof. Robert Erickson at the University of Colorado Boulder. Most recently, in October 2020, they completed a certification course in Agile Software Development instructed by Prof. Praveen Mittal at the University of Minnesota.
