Al Villalon is currently the EVP & CFO at Alerus Financial Corp. Prior to this, they served as a CFO Group DEI Council Member at US Bank from March 2020 to January 2022. Prior to Thrivent, they served as a Vice President / Senior Equity Research Analyst at Nuveen Investments from July 2008 to June 2013 and as an Assistant Vice President / Equity Research Analyst at Federated Investors from January 2001 to July 2008. Al began their career in the industry as a Summer Intern: Equity Research (Small Cap Value) at Munder Capital Management from May 2000 to August 2000.

Al Villalon's educational career includes a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA in Finance from Carnegie Mellon University's Tepper School of Business.
