Claire Herland has held a variety of positions with Alerus during her 25-plus year career, all of them focused on helping the client through one-on-one contact and development of positive working relationships.
Currently, Claire administers a varied portfolio of trusts, conservatorships, custodial accounts, IRAs, and estates. She also coordinates with employees, CPAs, attorneys, and other experienced professionals to accomplish her clients’ goals. She is always passionate about clients and is ready and willing to answer questions.
Claire grew up in northwestern North Dakota and graduated from the University of North Dakota in Williston. She is also a graduate of the North Dakota School of Banking and earned her Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) designation.

Through its subsidiary, Alerus Financial, National Association, the Company provides financial solutions to businesses and consumers. It operates through four segments: Banking, Retirement and Benefit Services, Wealth Management and Mortgage. The Banking division offers a line of loan, deposit, cash management, and treasury services. Retirement and Benefit Services provides recordkeeping and administration services to retirement plans; employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) trustee, recordkeeping, and administration, and investment fiduciary services to retirement plans. The Wealth Management division provides advisory and planning services, investment management, and trust and fiduciary services to clients. The Mortgage division offers mortgage loans through a centralized mortgage unit in Minneapolis, Minnesota, as well as through the Banking office locations.
