Steven Degetto

Steven Degetto has over 20 years of experience in senior leadership roles in the banking and insurance industries. Steven has worked as the Chief Commercial Officer at Alex.Bank since April 2023, leading a team focused on providing a better banking experience to customers. Prior to this, from September 2021 to April 2023, they were the Managing Director at natloans, where they helped customers structure their finance and insurance needs effectively. Before that, they worked as a Principal Consultant at SD7 Consulting, where they provided specialized consulting services on sales and distribution strategies to select companies. From 2017 to 2021, Steven served as the Chief Commercial Officer at Genworth Australia, responsible for leading and developing a high-performing team and driving sustainable growth through product development and innovation. Prior to that, they held various senior executive roles at Suncorp Group and Macquarie Group, where they focused on distribution and business growth across a range of financial products and services. In their early career, Steven worked at Lawfund Australia Pty. Ltd. and Commonwealth Bank of Australia in roles focused on managing intermediary relationships and growing the mortgage broker business.

Steven Degetto has a diverse education history. In 1990 to 1993, they attended the University of Tasmania where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business. In 1997 to 2001, they furthered their education at FINSIA, earning a Post Graduate degree in Applied Finance and Investment.

In 2009, they attended Mentor Education and achieved an Advanced Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning). Additionally, in the same year, they completed a Diploma in Financial Services (Financial Planning) from Mentor Education.

More recently, in 2019 to 2020, they attended The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, obtaining a Tuck Executive Education in Global Leadership: Discover and Create the Future.

In 2021, they pursued further certifications, including a Diploma in Finance and Mortgage Broking Management from AAMC Training Group and a Diploma in Insurance Broking from Financial Education Professionals.

Aside from their educational achievements, Steven Degetto has also obtained additional certifications. In 2014, they were recognized as a Fellow by FINSIA (Financial Services Institute of Australasia). Similarly, in 2010, they received a Fellow designation from the Mortgage and Finance Association of Australia (MFAA). Additionally, they obtained a certification in Global Leadership: Discover and Create the Future from Tuck Executive Education at Dartmouth in November 2020.
