Chief Quality & Regulatory Officer at Alex Therapeutics

Maria Rickardsson has a long and varied career in the Quality & Regulatory field. Maria began their career in 1992 at Ericsson, where they held the role of Software Design, Systems Engineering and Product Management. During their time there, they were responsible for software design and programming of AXE switches for Japanese cellular systems, as well as being a team leader and quality coordinator in subprojects. In 1999, they moved to Combitech AB, where they were a consultant with a focus on software and system quality and configuration management. Maria was then assigned as a quality coordinator and configuration manager in a software project at the Swedish Space Corporation. In 2001, they moved to Xelerated, where they were a Quality Manager and created and implemented the quality system. In 2003, they moved to St Jude Medical, where they held the role of Senior Design Assurance Engineer, with a focus on software and system development. Maria provided support, guidance and training to product development projects and IT organization regarding quality and process related issues, as well as reviewing and approving critical deliverables. In 2012, they moved to Synergus AB, where they held the role of Senior QA & RA consultant. In 2013, they moved to Diabetes Tools Sweden AB, where they held the role of Chief Compliance Officer. In 2016, they moved to QAdvis AB, where they held the role of Senior Quality & Regulatory consultant. In 2021, they moved to Hermes Medical Solutions, where they held the role of Chief Quality & Regulatory Officer. Finally, in 2022, they moved to Alex Therapeutics, where they currently hold the role of Chief Quality & Regulatory Officer.

Maria Rickardsson began their education in 1982 at Lugnetskolan Falun, where they earned a Gymnasium in Elkrfatingenjör. Maria then attended Uppsala University from 1988 to 2004, where they studied Sociologi 20p + 15p. In 1988, they also began attending Chalmers University of Technology, where they earned a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1992. During that same year, they also completed a 20p Engelska grundkurs at the University of Gothenburg. Maria also holds a Certified Scrum Master certification.
