Steve Karkus has over two decades of experience in IT project management and software development. Currently, Steve serves as Executive Director - IT Project Management at Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc., having previously held the roles of Senior Director and Senior Technical Project Manager within the same organization. Prior to this, Steve was Principal Consultant - Technology and Operations at KEI Technology Consulting from 2004 to early 2016 and led technical project management efforts at TOMS for a brief period in 2015. Steve also has experience as a Senior Software Engineer at Iolo and as a Software Engineer at Symantec. Steve began a career in software development at CA Technologies, focusing on enterprise security. Educationally, Steve holds a degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and has attended La Canada High School and Westminster Academy.
