Harriet Cohen

Harriet Cohen is an experienced administrative and music professional with a diverse background in the arts and education. Currently serving as an Administrative Assistant at Beth El Hebrew Congregation since May 2023, Cohen has also owned the Cohen Violin Studio since March 1998 and has been active as a Freelance Violinist, performing with prestigious orchestras and theaters in Washington DC since December 1998. In addition to these roles, Cohen has coached violin sections for Fairfax County Public Schools since October 2017 and has been a member of the first violin section of the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra since 2002. Previous positions include Violin Faculty at Northern Virginia Community College, Executive Administrative Assistant at Agudas Achim Congregation, and Associate Bowmaker at Bowmaker Donald M. Cohen, LLC. Cohen holds both a Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree in Violin Performance from Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst and has studied at Indiana University Bloomington and the Rubin Academy for Music and Arts in Jerusalem, Israel.
