Instrumentation And Control Section Head at AlexFert

Amir Awad has a diverse work experience in various fields. Amir started their career in 2000 as a Music Arranger and Composer at Score Exchange, where they published their music compositions and arrangements for various instrument ensembles. In 2004, they joined Bibliotheca Alexandrina as a Pianist, Musical Arranger, and Orchestrator, performing as a pianist for soloists and orchestras, and also managing the orchestra library. In 2005, they began working at AlexFert as a Senior Instrumentation Control Engineer, responsible for preventive and predictive maintenance of field instruments and control valves. Amir later took on roles as an ISO 9001:2015 Instrumentation related documents specialist and an Instrumentation Engineer. Additionally, they worked on various instrumentation projects, including the Ammoniam Sulphate Intrumentation Project. In 2015, they joined Sheet Music Plus as a Music Composer and Arranger, publishing their music arrangements and compositions. Throughout their career, Amir has demonstrated expertise in instrumentation control, music composition, and arranging.

Amir Awad completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from Alexandria University from 2000 to 2004. In addition, they received a Performance Certificate of Piano Performance from Trinity College of Music from 2002 to 2003. Prior to that, from 1999 to 2001, they achieved Grade 8 in Piano from the Royal Schools of Music. Their earliest education in music was pursued at the Academy of Arts in Egypt, where they obtained a Diploma of Music specializing in Piano and Music Theory from 1992 to 1999.

Amir has also obtained various certifications in different fields. Most recently, in January 2021, they completed a Composition & Film Scoring course from Udemy. In the same month, they also obtained a certification in Orchestration from the same institution. Additionally, they obtained a certificate in Hazard and Risk Assessment for Functional Safety (SIL) from TUV Nord in February 2017. In March 2014, they completed an Introduction to Classical Music Composition course from the National University of Singapore. In February 2014, they obtained a certification in Control for Mobile Robotics from Swinburne University of Technology. Furthermore, they have completed multiple courses related to Western Music History through Performance, including one from The Curtis Institute of Music in December 2013 and two from Coursera in November 2013. In the same month, they also completed an Introduction to Music Production course from Coursera. Additionally, in October 2013, they finished another course on Western Music History through Performance from The Curtis Institute of Music, as well as an Introduction to Music Production course from Berklee College of Music.
