Shane Gormley

Shane Gormley serves as the Director of Global Regulatory Strategy at Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since April 2022, previously holding the position of Associate Director in Global Regulatory Affairs with a focus on development strategy. Gormley possesses extensive regulatory experience, having been the Clinical Assessor at the Health Products Regulatory Authority from November 2016 to April 2022, where involvement included contributions to clinical benefit-risk assessments and participation in European regulatory groups. A background in pharmacy includes roles as a pharmacist at multiple pharmacies and experience as a postdoctoral researcher at Trinity College Dublin, where research concentrated on neurodegeneration. Gormley holds a Ph.D. in Neuroscience and a Postgraduate Diploma in Pharmaceutical Medicine from Trinity College Dublin, complemented by qualifications in Innovation & Entrepreneurship.
