Brooklyn born and bred designer, Alexis Bittar has been designing jewelry for over 20 years. He began his illustrious career by selling on the streets of New York City in the early 1980s. Bittar sold his hand crafted pieces from a wooden fold-out table on St Marks Place and in Soho, NYC. Shortly after, Bittar’s creations were recognized by fashion retailers worldwide; propelling the Artist into the world of international museums, department stores and luxury boutiques alike. In 2010, the self-taught designer was lauded by the CFDA, receiving the accessories designer of the year award. In 2013, he received the award for brand of the year by the Accessories Council. Bittar’s diverse aesthetic and unique point of view enables him to remain at the cutting edge of culture, design, and craftsmanship while abiding by his core beliefs of quality and innovation. Bittar’s diverse celebrity following further reflects the designer’s reach, with fans ranging from Michelle Obama to Lady Gaga, and Rihanna to Iris Apfel. He continues to change the world’s perception of jewelry by celebrating wearable art. With his designs, Bittar lauds individualism, embracing imperfections, and rejecting the mundane and ordinary.
