Susanne Birks

Susanne Birks is an experienced professional in mental health and addiction services, currently serving as the Deputy Director of Operations at Alfred Health since April 2023. In this role, Susanne oversees a variety of community services, including the Southcity Clinic, Navigations, Early Intervention Psychosocial Support Response, and several specialized programs focusing on mental health and addiction care. Prior to this position, Susanne managed community mental health and alcohol and drug services at Inner South Community Health Service from 2001 to 2008, where responsibilities included leading the Resourcing Health and Education program in the sex industry. Educational qualifications include a Master's in Health Administration from La Trobe University, a degree in Women Transforming Leadership from Saïd Business School, and a Bachelor's in Psychiatric Nursing from RMIT University, among others. Susanne is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
