Alfred Street Baptist Church
Rev. Donna Arrendell, M.Ed, currently serves as the Associate Minister at Alfred Street Baptist Church since June 2014. With a background in education, Rev. Arrendell has worked as an educator for Montgomery County Public Schools from August 2004 to July 2019 and for District of Columbia Public Schools from August 2001 to June 2004. Previous experience includes a role as a Personnel Psychologist at Booz Allen Hamilton from August 1986 to December 1988. Academic accomplishments include a Master of Divinity from Virginia Theological Seminary (August 2019 - May 2022), a Master of Education in Elementary Education from Trinity Washington University (2002 - 2005), and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Chemistry from Howard University (1982 - 1985).

Historic Alfred Street Baptist Church is located in Old Town, Alexandria. Our church has over 8,000 members and continues to grow “Building Disciples to Win the World for Christ.” ASBC has over 80 ministries to meet member needs. Over the years, Alfred Street has been a leader among churches and has made significant contributions in education, missions, children ministries, and advancement of women. Alfred Street was among the first churches to ordain women as deacons (1979) and the first in Virginia to ordain an African American woman minister (1980). Since then, the church has licensed or ordained 12 female ministers. Alfred Street continues a legacy of worldwide leadership as we strive to Make Disciples To Win the World for Christ.
