Alfred Street Baptist Church
Paul Hypolite, Jr. currently serves as the Assistant to the Pastor for Congregational Life at Alfred Street Baptist Church, a position held since January 2023. Previously, Paul held the role of St. Jude Chairman for Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated from June 2020 to January 2023. Paul also worked for Houston ISD from August 2019 to November 2022, serving as both a Wraparound Resource Specialist and FACE Specialist, where responsibilities included planning and implementing family and community engagement initiatives. Additionally, Paul contributed as the Community Outreach Co-Chair at the Houston Area Urban League Young Professionals from September 2021 to May 2022. Educationally, Paul is pursuing a Master of Divinity at Virginia Union University, expected to graduate in May 2024, having previously earned two Master of Divinity degrees from the Interdenominational Theological Center and a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Communication from Texas Southern University.

Historic Alfred Street Baptist Church is located in Old Town, Alexandria. Our church has over 8,000 members and continues to grow “Building Disciples to Win the World for Christ.” ASBC has over 80 ministries to meet member needs. Over the years, Alfred Street has been a leader among churches and has made significant contributions in education, missions, children ministries, and advancement of women. Alfred Street was among the first churches to ordain women as deacons (1979) and the first in Virginia to ordain an African American woman minister (1980). Since then, the church has licensed or ordained 12 female ministers. Alfred Street continues a legacy of worldwide leadership as we strive to Make Disciples To Win the World for Christ.
