Melisa Scalisi

Melisa Scalisi has worked in the biotechnology industry since 2005. Melisa began their career at BIOSIDUS as a Technician/Analyst of Purification Development and Analyst of Productive Development. In this role, they were responsible for the development and transfer of bacterial fermentations, lysis, folding, and purification of recombinant proteins. Melisa also managed bioreactors of up to 5 liters, AKTA Explorer/Purifier platforms with Unicorn, ultra/micro filtration equipment, and peristaltic pumps. In 2018, Melisa moved to Pfizer where they worked as a Technician/Analyst of Quality Control. Here, they were responsible for quality control of biological finished products, physical-chemical control, and microbiological control. In 2020, Melisa joined Toll Pharma S.L. as an Analyst of Quality Control, managing microbiological analysis of waters, environment, finished products, and raw materials. Currently, Melisa works at ALGENEX S.L. as a Senior Scientist (Downstream) and Technician of Laboratory (Downstream). In this role, they are responsible for the purification of recombinant proteins produced with baculovirus, manual and automatic infection of the insect, and study of protein expression in different incubation conditions.

Melisa Scalisi has a diverse educational background. In 2009, they obtained a LICENCIADA EN BIOTECNOLOGÍA from Universidad Nacional de Quilmes. In 2020, they completed a Máster en ensayos microbiologicos from Instituto Europeo de Quimica Fisica y Biologia in the field of Microbiología, general. In the same year, they also obtained Certificados de formación in Control de los peligros asociados a la listeria en alimentos, Manipulador de alimentos, and Implantación y mantenimiento de sistemas de autocontrol basados en el APPCC from ASONAMAN, S.L. Alicante, España.
