Toni Pickett

Chief Academic Officer at Algiers Charter School Association

Ms. Toni Pickett comes to the Algiers Charter team with a wealth of knowledge and experience. As CAO, she will be responsible for developing, managing, and monitoring academic and strategic priorities and carrying out all fiduciary duties to the children and families we serve.

Ms. Pickett earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Southern University of New Orleans, a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from the University of New Orleans, and completed her plus 30 at Mississippi State University.

She has also worked at many levels of education and developed a vast understanding of the needs of students, educators, and families. Ms. Pickett has served as a Special Education, Social Studies, and Instructional Lead Teacher as well as Assistant Principal and Principal at several schools in Georgia. In New Orleans, she has served as the Principal for McDonough 35 College Preparatory High School, Assistant Director of Curriculum and Director of Equity and Accountability, and Director of Accountability for New Orleans Public Schools.
