Charis Sfyrakis

Charis Sfyrakis has been in the tech industry since 2011, starting as a High Performance Computing Consultant at Excelian. Charis then moved to BNP Paribas as a Technical Consultant, where they worked on Grid and Data Caching Engineering. In 2013, they became a Data Scientist at Sandtable Ltd., working on data driven agent based modelling, machine learning, and preprocessing and post-processing of simulation data. In 2014, Charis joined Barclays as a Vice President, Sr. Data Scientist in Advanced Data Analytics, where they conceptualized, led, and implemented models that predict customer redemption of mortgages, categorize transactions in sub-linear time complexity, and implement Natural Language Processing Solutions using Deep Learning. Charis then joined Entrepreneur First in 2018 as a Cohort Member, where they helped build startups from scratch in London and Singapore. In 2019, they became the Chief Scientific Officer at Chosen, and in 2020, they joined NatWest as a Fintech Accelerator Program Cohort and Algomo as the CEO. At Algomo, they help companies automate their customer service in 100+ languages using a proprietary multilingual AI.

Charis Sfyrakis has an education history that spans from 2001 to 2010. In 2001-2002, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematical and Physical Sciences from the National Technical University of Athens. From 2002-2008, they obtained a Master of Engineering - MEng in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Patras. In 2006, they enjoyed an Erasmus exchange at RWTH Aachen University. Finally, from 2009-2010, they obtained an MSc (Hons, 1st class) in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Edinburgh.

In addition, Charis Sfyrakis holds several certifications, including a Level 3 certification from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (obtained in 2016), an Oracle Certified Professional Java SE Programmer 6 from Oracle (obtained in 2012), a Prince 2 certification in Project Management from APMG International (obtained in 2011), a Foundation Certificate in Business Analysis from the British Computer Society (obtained in 2011), and a Barclays Digital Driving Licence.
