John Dallas

John Dallas is the Chair of Information and Communications Technology – Security Systems and Networking at Algonquin College. John has over fifteen years of experience in the field of educational technology.

Dallas started their career as a Content Developer at Desire2Learn, an educational software company. John then became an Online Instructor at Virtual High School, before moving on to DISTIL Interactive Ltd, where they were a Serious Games Designer.

In 2008, Dallas began working at the Canadian Institute for Health Information, first as an Education Developer and then as Learning Systems Coordinator. In 2014, they joined Algonquin College as Manager, Design and Delivery, Centre for Continuing and Online Learning. Dallas has been in their current role since 2019.

John Dallas has a Master of Arts in Learning and Technology from Royal Roads University, and a Bachelor of Computing from the University of Guelph.

John Dallas reports to Eric Marois, Dean, School of Advanced Technology. They work with Adam Shane - Chair, Applied Science and Environmental Technology, Sandra Brancatelli - Chair, Information and Communications Technology – Applications and Programming, and David Thibodeau - Chair, Mechanical and Transportation Technology.
