Theo Mirtchev

Theo Mirtchev is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in applied research and data analytics. Currently serving as the Senior Program Manager and Managing Director at the Data Analytics Centre, Applied Research at Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology, Theo has been involved in facilitating industry-driven projects focused on data technologies, machine learning, deep learning, and the Internet of Things since September 2006. In previous roles at Algonquin College, including Project Manager and Principal Investigator, Theo led applied research initiatives supporting Canadian startups. Additionally, Theo worked as a Senior Research Scientist at Optiwave Corp., specializing in telecommunication software design. Theo holds a Ph.D. in Applied Laser Physics from Sofia University, earned from 1988 to 1993.
